On this blog you will see and hear things that will excite and incite you.  That is a good thing. The forces of oligarchy in our country have joined with the Christian fanatics to put ignorant hillbillies in charge of almost everything, so that nothing makes sense any more.  We are led to believe that repeating the same falsehood over and over creates the truth.  As a people, we are rapidly losing the ability to tell lies from truth and good from evil.  Our corporations are allowed to buy elections, and our officials are allowed to do what ever they wish.  All that is necessary is that afterward they say:, "Oh I am a sinner and God has forgiven me."  Well I am here to tell you, Jack, I have not forgiven you.  Get to work and make things better.  Stop complaining about disabled and homeless persons not working and look at yourself!!

The first thing I wish to deal with on this blog is the congress.  There are many congressmen and women now (tea baggers, especially) who say they don't believe in government, but are perfectly willing to accept bloated salaries for, in effect doing nothing.

Congressional salaries, when one includes health care benefits and allowable office expenses, run close to two million dollars apiece.  Yet last year congressmen (and women) worked only 107 days!  I hereby propose two things:

1) All congress persons sign a pledge that in the coming year they will work at least 200 days at the jobs for which we pay them so well.  I am calling this "The Pledge for 200."

2) That all members of congress, who are in security sensitive jobs, be subjected to the  random drug and alcohol tests they require of others.

3) That an active discussion begin on what we as Americans would like our politicians to do at work.  To say "I am working to make the government so small it could be drowned in a bath tub, while at the same time drawing a huge amount of money from that same government for almost no labor is (or should be) criminal..
